Joe is a doctor turned cancer patient. A year from finishing a Radiology residency, Joe was diagnosed with high-grade myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). He found a near-perfect marrow match through The National Marrow Donor Program and received a bone marrow transplant in January 2007. Joe is hoping for a complete recovery. He lives in Pittsburgh with his dedicated wife, Karen. |

Cammy Lee New York City, New York
Cammy was diagnosed with Leukemia when she was 13. In 1992, after six years of aggressive chemotherapy and radiation treatments, Cammy found a perfect matching bone marrow donor. Today, Cammy is the full-time Recruitment Manager for the Cammy Lee Leukemia Foundation. To date, her organization has signed up more than 100,000 donors to the National Marrow Registry. |

Gail Schoettler serves on several corporate and non-profit boards, and has served as a U.S. Ambassador and as Colorado’s Lt. Governor and State Treasurer. She is a Denver Post columnist and speaks on globalization, political strategies for business, and women’s issues. An avid hiker, she conquered her fear of heights to climb all 56 of Colorado’s 14,000 foot high mountains. |

7 years ago, Amy was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Amy has been cancer free since undergoing chemotherapy, radiation and a bone marrow transplant (at both Sloan Kettering and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute). This past year, she founded CancerConnect -- an online social networking site that provides support and hope for cancer survivors and patients. |
